The Rabbinic Giron family hailed from Adrianople and had an affinity for the Sepher Ha’Itur. It is interesting to note that a full length commentary on the Sepher Ha’Itur by Jacob Abraham Giron entitled “Tikkun Soferim U’Mikra Soferim” was published in Constantinople, 1756. The Chida in Shem Hagedolim, Ma’arecheth Sepharim under the entry Tikun Soferim praises the holiness and diligence of “Harav Hachassid Abraham Giron.” For more on the Giron family see Otzar HaRabanim no. 323-26.
