It is presently unclear to what extent the contents of this manuscript have already been published. R. Yoseph Shaul Nathanson (1810-75) was well known for his multi-volume collection of responsa entitled Sho’el U’Meishiv. Childless, Rabbi Nathanson was independently wealthy and his life was exclusively devoted to philanthropic affairs and scholarly pursuits. He became known as the leading rabbi of Galicia during his lifetime.
