From: Moll’s The World Described, pl. 29. Splendid large format map of the Ottoman Empire by Herman Moll, one of England’s leading geographers and map makers at the beginning of the 18th century. The Empire is spread over three continents and the map includes all of southern Europe, northern Africa, Arabia, and Turkey. In addition, there are inset views of Constantinople, Smyrna, along with a panorama of Jerusalem (after the Cornelius le Bruyn 1698 image).
