Imre Ámos (1907-1944) was a Hungarian-Jewish artist. Following his studies at the Technical University, Budapest in 1927 he enrolled in the Art School where he was a pupil of Gyula Rudnay. His art was initially influenced by József Rippl-Rónai and Róbe rt Berény and from the mid-1930s onwards, his style emulated that of Chagall. In 1936 he was elected to be a member of the New Society of Artists. In 1937 he visited Paris where he met Chagall and became a member of the National Salon. Imre Ámos was a victim of Nazi genocide and was killed in a concentration camp in Saxony. (Wikipedia)
