The Author, Jekuthiel Weisz (1861-1941) of Tiszafüred, Hungary, studied in the Pressburg Yeshivah under R. Simchah Bunem Sofer (author Shevet Sopher). Other works of his include a commentary to the Hagadah, "Yikav La'Or" (Buenos Aires, 1934), and Ra'ash Gadol on the 613 commandments (Buenos Aires, 1937). The books were issued by the author’s son residing in Argentina, Eugenio (Chaim Jacob) Villa. It seems the name “Weisz” was Hispanicized to “Villa.”
