Begin assures the addressee he will do all within his power to re-establish the ancient town of Modi'in (ancient home of the Macabees). At the time the letter was written, Begin was Minister without Portfolio. (Modi'in has since developed into a bustling metropolis on the rail-line between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem)
