A poster issued by the General Jewish Community Council of Poland wishing Jews throughout the country a peaceful New Year and recounting all their communal activities: The opening of Talmud Torah schools, orphanages, summer camps, old-age homes, the performance of hundreds of Brith Miloth, provision of Tefillin for Bar Mitzvah boys, supply of kosher food and rebuilding of mikvahs and synagogues. The final section condemns the British refusal to allow for Jewish immigration to Eretz Israel and hoping that the new year will bring about the establishment of a Jewish State
