The caricaturist Caran D'Ache was a member of a group of Parisian artists who displayed deeply anti-Semitic bias in their illustrations. Once the infamous "L'Affair" came along, Caran D'Ache, together with Forain, founded the notorious anti-Dreyfusard illustrated magazine Pssst…! (1898). As witnessed by the caricatures in our booklet, the artist subscribed to the stereotypical notion that the French economy and bourse were controlled by a cabal of Jewish bankers led by Baron Rothschild.
