Alexander Bichovski (1888-1978) was born in Moghilev (today Belarus) where he received a traditional Jewish upbringing. He studied at the St. Petersburg School for the Encouragement of the Arts and in 1923 had a personal exposition at the Habimah Theater. In 1928 Bichovski was appointed Dean of Arts at the Krupskaya School of Applied Arts. In 1927 he participated in the World Expo in Leipzig in 1927 and in Paris in 1931
