THE EARLIEST HEBREW ANIT-SEMITIC WORK PRINTED IN FRANCE. Extremly rare edition of a missionary letter in Hebrew to the Jews of Avignon ("la ville des vignes") by Johannes Andreas (Juan Andres) of Xativa. “A convert to Christianity in the sixteenth century; his Jewish name is unknown. In his conversionist zeal he addressed a letter to the Jewish congregations of southern France, summoning them to accept Christianity (Paris, 1552). His works, originally written in Spanish, were translated into Italian...and frequently reprinted” (Meyer Keyserling in JE)
