The first catalogue describing an exhibition of Jewish ceremonial art. This remarkable collection, containing many important objects, belonged to Joseph Strauss, a noted French musician and conductor. It was exhibited as part of the Universal Exhibition of 1878 held in Paris. Later the collection was purchased by the Rothschild family and donated to the Musée Cluny, Paris. See W.L.
