This work consists of selections from Talmud, Midrashim and Zohar, and medieval authorities (especially Nachmanides, Sha'ar he-Gemul), concerning retribution, suffering in the tomb (tza'ar ha-kever), and the resurrection. The title derives from the fact that it is through the acquisition of a “good name” (by practicing good deeds) that one will inherit the World to Come. See JE, Vol. V, p. 110
