Contains extremely important unpublished marginal notations in various cursive Sephardic hands. Thirteen notes and comments are written in the name of the Ar”i - apparently copied directly from the Zohar used by the Ar”i himself (see page 83b, “Ad Kan Nimtza Be-Zohar Ha’Ari.”). One hundred seventeen comments are cited in the name of R. Chaim Vital. These notes are of great significance, for the standard published editions of the Zohar contain only Vital’s glosses to the later part of the Zohar. There are no published notes from him on Bereishith in his Zoharic commentary “Derech Emet”. Also contains thirteen comments in the name of R. Moshe Cordovero, plus other unattributed comments in an unknown hand. An important, Original Addition to Kabbalistic Study. Rabbi Shimon Schwartz, Chief Librarian of the Library of Karlin-Stolin, Jerusalem, has examined this volume, his abbreviated notes are appended to the lot for further reference.
