Selected Chassidic discourses of the Rebbe of Sadiger, according to the weekly Torah portion and holidays and other festive occasions. The discourses were presented during the years 1859-71. Includes stories and discourses from his “holy brothers’, R. Dov Ber Leove, R. David Moshe of Chortkov (at that time in Potok) and others (the Rabbis of Chernobyl and Husyatin) (pp. 39-45). The final leaves contain a copy of a letter from R. Abraham of Kalisk to R. Shneur Zalman of Liadi. The Rebbe of Sadiger succeeded his father R. Yisrael of Rizhin after his elder brother R. Shalom Yosef died. As the oldest remaining son of the “Holy Rizhiner” he was the acknowledged leader of this dynasty. His younger brother the “Leover” as he was known, was one of the most tragic and enigmatic Chassidic figures. He “resigned” as Rebbe of Leove, to reside with a Makil in Czernowitz. He later returned to his brothers palatial mansion in Sadiger, living there for six years until his death. The text of this manuscript differs from the Divrei Torah of the author, publishds in the work of his great-grandson, the Rebbe of Gvodsitz-Sadigura, R. David Moshe Schapiro, Dudaim shel Moshe, (New York). The discourses should be compared to those recorded in Irin Kadishin, M. Gutman’s R. Dov of Leove and other versions
