In fine, poetic language the Rebbe relates the psyche of his father and previous Rebbes of Lubavitch who "gave up their lives and souls" to strengthen citadels of Torah. He discusses the history of Yeshivath Torath Emeth - a branch of the "delightful vinyard." Due to the outbreak of World War I, Shlomo Zalman Havlin, the administrator of the Yeshiva was forced to flee Jerusalem. The letter encourages Havlin and his supporters to reestablish the Yeshiva to its former glory, urging efforts to establish branches of the Yeshiva in every town of the "holy cities." “Whomsoever undertakes this responsibility will be rewarded with a triple blessing." The Rebbe's correspondence from this era is especially scarce. Unpublished and unknown to the Library of Agudath Chassidei Chabad, New York
