The first Hebrew Book printed by lithography in Bombay. Edited by Solomon Shurrabi, this was the first work published by Jews to benefit the Bene Israel Community of Bombay, and so counteract the influence of Christian missionaries. “To Shurrabi, with David Rahabi and Samuel Divekar, may be ascribed the chief influence in keeping the Bene-Israel true to their faith.” JE, XI 315.
