The author was one of the foremost preachers of the 17th century, active in Lithuania, Moravia and Poland. His work here is renowned for its Kabbalistic interpretations. Among the topics discussed are the mystical approaches relating to the preparations for the Sabbath, as well as conduct on the day itself, including the importance of marital relations on Friday evening. Only three books were published in this obscure Russian hamlet.
