This letter was written from Vienna, where Rabbi Yadler was apparently visiting. He reports to Rabbi Ze’ev Shachor (1869-1941), a leader of the Old Yishuv in Jerusalem, about his reception by the masses and general excitement about the Jewish community in Eretz Israel. Rabbi Yadler was close with both the Old Yishuv and Rav Kook. He was a strong advocate for the observance of the special mitzvoth of Eretz Israel, often visiting agricultural settlements to speak of their importance.
