R. Aharon (Ahrele) Roth, author of Shomer Emunim, was the founder of the Chasidic court by that name. Born and raised in what was then Hungary, conflicts with groups associated with R. Yoel Teitelbaum forced him to leave Satu-Mare and he immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1939. Upon his death, his court split into two, then three, groups. One of the groups, Toldoth Aharon, is named for him.
