R. Yechiel Yehoshua Rabinowicz, the second Biala Rebbe, was the son of R. Yerachmiel Tzvi and raised by his grandfather R. Leibish of Ozarov. In 1923, he become the Rebbe of Shedlitz (Siedlice). Following the occupation of Poland by Germany, he managed to escape to the Russian-controlled zone, from where he was exiled to Siberia. In 1947 he immigrated to Mandatory Palestine and settled in Tel Aviv. In the forefront of activity to maintain adherence to traditional Judaism, he was one of the founders of the Chinuch Atzmai educational network, and also served on the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. He was the author of Chelkas Yehoshua and Seder HaYom. The Biala dynasty stems from the Rebbe Reb Bunim of Peshischa the Holy Jew of Peshischa, who was a disciple of the Seer of Lublin, who in turn was a disciple of R. Elimelech of Lizhensk, who was a disciple of the Maggid of Mezritch, who was a disciple of the Ba’al Shem Tov.
