R. Shaul Yedidia Elazar succeeded his father R. Yisrael Taub (1849-1920) the first Modzhitzer rebbe, as leader of this Chassidic dynasty that is particularly famed for musical composition. “The young man,” American-born Ben Zion Shenker (1925-2016), was enamored with classical Jewish music since childhood. As a teenager, Shenker met the Modhitzer Rebbe and formed a life-long relationship with his Chassidim, recording hundreds of their compositions. Shenker became of the best-loved traditional Jewish musicians of the 20th century. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Zion_Shenker.
