Forced to move due to constant religious persecution, Gershom Soncino established presses and printed books successively in Soncino, Brescia, Barco, Fano, Pesaro, Ortono, Rimini, Cesena and Salonika. He remained longest in Fano, establishing there the city’s first press in 1502 and leaving in 1505 and returning for a brief period in 1515-17.
