Ukrainian born, Litvinovsky studied at the Academy of Art in Odessa. In 1919 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and joined the Bezalel School. He spent much of the 1930’s in Paris, strongly influenced by the Ecole de Paris. In Israel Litvinovsky was active in the Egged artists’ group.
