The Blaue Vogel theater-cabaret was founded by Russian emigre Jascha Juschny in Berlin in the early 1920's. “Their repertoire was a combination of Russian folk songs, modernist theater, and satirical sketches, which provided a welcome alternative to the prevailing German cabarets that were more gritty and political in nature.”
