Rare translation of a Hebrew work with the same title and also published in 1819. It includes the opinions of twenty two eminent European rabbis that counter the arguments posed by two earlier pro-Reform tracts, Or Nogah and Nogah Tzedek. In order to render its important content more accessible to the audience of Jews who were most susceptible to the encroachments of the reformers against traditional Jewish worship practices, the Beth Din of Hamburg sought to issue this German translation. It includes additional material not included in the Hebrew version.
