The Munkatcher Rebbe, R. Chaim Elazar Spira (1872-1937, the Minchas Elazar) was known for his militant opposition to Zionism - not just the Mizrachi Party, but also Agudath Israel, at whose helm was R. Avraham Mordechai Alter, the Gerrer Rebbe. In these two responses to R. Avraham Chaim David Schreiber of Borislav, the Munkatcher sets out in graphic detail what he finds most objectionable about the Agudah.
