Rabbinic ruling seeking Halachic solutions to permit survivor women to remarry, following the disappearance of their husbands following the selection-process in Auschwitz. The author (1902-1974), formerly Rabbi of Vaitzen, was appointed Rabbi of the Bergen-Belsen DP Camp and Chief Rabbi of the British Occupation Zone, Germany. He published this responsa for his rabbinic colleagues to review and offer their opinion. The author later emigrated to Chicago establishing the Vaitzener Chassidic community and school-system. He was a brother-in-law of R. Shlomo Halberstam, the Bobover Rebbe.
