Drawn after Sanson, this is one of Homann’s earliest maps and reflects the engraving style and detail which is indicative of the his work early in his career. The Holy Land is divided into 12 tribes, with large inset map in the lower right corner that shows the wanderings of Moses in the desert set within cartouche including the Biblical spies.
