Born in Worms, R. Aviezri Selig Auerbach (1726-67) studied in Edenkoben (Rhineland) and was selected to marry the daughter of the head of the yeshiva, R. Isaac Sinzheim (father of R. David Sinzheim, later, first Chief Rabbi of France). Also a student of R. Jonathan Eyebescheutz, R. Aviezri Selig served the rabbinate of Bouxwiller (Ger. Buchsweiler), Alsace until his death at the young age of 41. See Y.
