The last rabbinic code written by a German scholar before the Shulchan Aruch was compiled, the Sepher Agur follows the order of the Tur and contains fourteen hundred and thirty nine sections, primarily focusing upon ritual, the laws of the Sabbath and the Festivals. The author’s intention was to add the decisions of the later German scholars, such as Jacob Moelin and Israel Isserlein which has been been omitted by Jacob ben Asher’s Tur. The previous owner R.
