This work may be viewed as an expansion of the Alter Rebbe’s Igereth HaTeshuvah, the third part of the Sepher Tanya. The title states that it is part III of Sha’ar HaTeshuvah. (For Part II, see previous lot). Typographical variants of the title of the work exist, nonetheless, Habermann, Wiener and the Haim Liberman all concur that the first edition was indeed published in 1819.
