Known as the Illui of Kiev, R. Eliezer Rabinowitz studied under the Beth HaLevi in Slutzk and later at the Yeshiva of Volozhin. He was the son-in-law of the Gadol of Minsk R. Yerucham Yehudah Perlman. See S.N. Gottlieb, Oholei Shem p. 118; Rabotheinu Shebagolah I pp. 96-8.
