This monthly magazine contains one of the earliest reports in the English press on the attacks on the Jews in Vienna (see pp. 36-8). The suspicion is that the Crown instigated the mob so as to refute large funds it owed to the family of the banker, imperial court diplomat and military supplier for the Holy Roman Emperor, Samuel Oppenheimer, following his death in 1703.
