The author was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1695 and spent his career as Chief Physician of the Jewish Hospital of his native town. He was interested in a wide range of subjects, especially Massoretic studies. He also wrote a commentary to the Passover Seder “Chad Gadya” song. See H.
