<<THE FIRST ASCHKENAZIC SUKOTH MACHZOR PRINTED IN AMERICA.>> Issued alongside a volume for Shavu’oth and Pesach, this “completes the separate German and Polish liturgies begun in 1854” (Goldman 43). Based upon the celebrated Wolf Heidenheim edition, this prayer book was issued by the Jewish printing establishment of Henry (Chaim) Frank of New York, thus enabling the newly rising community of Aschkenazic American Jews to conduct services according to their own custom, as opposed to that of the Sephardic rite.
