Responsa from three generations of Volozhin: R. Chaim, his son-in-law R. Hillel and his grandson R. Eliezer Yitzchak. R. Chaim Volozhin, the principle disciple of the Vilna Gaon, was the acknowledged leader of the Mitnagdic Movement following his establishment of his Yeshiva in 1802. His writings were highly influential within elite scholarly Lithuanian Yeshiva circles. Due to a fire very little of his halachic writings were published.
