Published to commemorate the second anniversary of the “Generalgouvernment Polen,” on the ‘rebuilding’ of Warsaw and the ‘improvements’ of the district under German rule. Includes a 12-page section on the Warsaw Ghetto in which the author describes how after the takeover of the city, Jews were found in filthy living conditions rampant with infectious diseases. In order to ‘protect’ the rest of the population and the German army, German authorities were ‘forced’ to create a separate “Wohnbezirk” (living district) for Jews to keep them from spreading diseases. The Warsaw Ghetto was established in October/November 1940 with over 400,000 Jews residing in an area of 1.3 square miles.
