Pachad Yitzchak is the most comprehensive and celebrated encyclopedia in the field of Halachah. Each entry includes material from the Mishnah, Talmud, Poskim, Rishonim and responsa literature. Lampronti pays special attention to the decisions of the Italian Rabbis, much of which had never been published to date and was otherwise unknown. The previous owner R. Chaim Lerman of Krashnewitz (1867-1911), was a well known Chassidic Rabbi, author and bibliographer. See Y. Alfasi, HaChassiduth p. 210. His forebearers were disciples of the Chozeh of Lublin and R. Mendel of Kotzk.
