The New Synagogue of Leadenhall Street, founded in 1761, remained in its location in the Aldgate area of the City of London until 1837 when it moved to Great St. Helens Street. It relocated again in 1911 to Egerton Road, Stamford Hill. It was one of the original five constituent synagogues that formed the United Synagogue in 1870. The Cymbalista Collection possesses a pair of Torah finials formerly in the New Synagogue Leadenhall Street. See R. Grafman, 50 Rimmonim (1998) no. 34, p 76.
