R. Zalman Sender (1851-1923) studied under the Beth Halevi in Brisk and was the learning-partner of R. Chaim Soloveitchik. Having served as Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Maltch and Krinik he settled in Jerusalem in 1921. The volumes of his Talmud are replete with important and comprehensively lengthy marginal notes. His novellae were published posthumously under the title Chidushei Hagrazas on Kodashim. See Rabotheinu ShebaGolah (Jerusalem) Vol. I pp. 187-91.
