Just two Ladino books in Ladino were printed in Rhodes. Rosenfeld’s Hebrew Printing only lists the later (1935) publication. The settlement of Jews in Rhodes dates back to the 2nd century BCE. The traveller Benjamin of Tudela wrote of the Rhodes community when he visited in the 12th-century. Today, barely 50 Jews are resident on this Greek Island located in the eastern Aegean Sea.
