Masada. The Victory of the Vanquished. With 27 lithographs by Raymond Moretti (signed)

One of 298 numbered copies (English edition) signed by the three collaborators on half-title. Hebrew calligraphy by Asher Amar. Text by General Dayan, Uzi Narkis ("Judea Capta") and Josephus Flavius (excerpt from "The Jewish War"). Loose as issued in original ox-hide with wooden dowel closure (representing the arrows used by the warriors in the period of Masada). 22 x 16 inches. Bindings and covers, executed in fine materials, leather, linen cloth and wood. The binding is made out of a single piece of ox-hide, representing the fact that ancient manuscripts were protected by skins of this type and the wood clasp with which the book is fastened, represents the arrows used by the warriors in the period of Masada.
