Modena’s collection of supplementary Aggadoth were incorporated into later editions of the Ein Ya’akov. His comments are prefaced by "Amar HaBoneh." Modena was a most enigmatic figure: rabbi, scholar and by his own admission, a gambler. His literary virtuosity continues to stimulate research and "serves as a prism of his society and culture."
