Initial letters bold, headings and instructions in smaller letters. Some sections in a differing but similar hand, also on alternate parchment Light wear. Height: 22 inches. Set on two wooden rollers (chipped)

Written on vellum in the style of a Sepher Torah, but here provided with nekudoth and cantillation notes. For a comprehensive history of Haphtorah Scrolls and a survey of their use in various countries over the centuries, see B.S. Hamburger, Shoroshei Minhag Ashkenaz, Vol. III, pp. 112-228. According to Hamburger, these types of scrolls with wooden rollers were used in Frankfurt a/Main and other German communities such as Hamburg, Mainz, Worms and Nurenberg, plus the communities of Basel and Copenhagen as well as in the Alsace
