Selichoth LeYom HaKippurim Shenath - Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wien

Single-sided mimeographed sheet. Folds. Folio

(Vienna): (1938)

Est: $1,500 - $2,000
A schedule of the prayer service for the Day of Atonement, 1938, as announced by the central body representing the Jews of Vienna. The Anschluss (Annexation) of Austria by Nazi Germany had taken place earlier, in the month of March, 1938, whereupon the Jews of Vienna were exposed to the most severe forms of discrimination. Hence, the atmosphere in which the Yom Kippur service was held, was likely one of fear and intense anxiety.
