The Florentin family of Salonika produced some of the most prominent Rabbis and scholars of the 16th and 17th centuries in Greece. The family of the author also maintained a Yeshiva housed in the Talmud Torah of Salonika, a central institution which also maintained a printing press that in fact issued this work
