The respected Hungarian author (c. 1780-1856) who later settled in Safed, corresponded with the Chatham Sofer and the Yismach Moshe, R. Moshe Teitelbaum. His son-in-law was the “Yitav-Lev,” R. Yekuthiel Yehuda Teitelbaum of Sighet. His great-grandson was the Satmar Rebbe, R. Joel Teitelbaum. The signatory, R. Aryeh Halberstam was the son of R. Moshe of Bardiov, grandson of R. Chaim of Sanz. He states on the front flyleaf that he is descendant of the author
