The books of R. Chaim Tyrer (1770-1816), known as “R. Chaim of Czernowitz,” remain to this day favored by the Hungarian Chassidim, particularly his commentary to the Pentateuch, “Be’er Mayim Chaim.” R. Chaim was a disciple of R.
