Laws governing the internal administration of London’s celebrated Bevis Marks Synagogue. The first edition of the Ascamot was published in 1782, in Portuguese. The 1831 edition in English was "translated by order of the Meeting of the Elders by three Gentlemen from their body" following an earlier edition of 1819. The 1850 "revised and amended" edition is apparently scarce and not listed by Roth. See also Hyamson, The Sephardim of England, pp. 28-32 and 188-190
