The Franco-British Agreement of 1920, properly called the Franco-British Convention, defined the boundaries between the Mandates of Palestine and Mesopotamia (today Iraq) attributed to Great Britain, and the Mandate of Syria and Lebanon, attributed to France. This agreement is considered by some Israeli jurists to be one of the fundamental documents of international law concerning the borders of the State of Israel
